A travel companion platform built to connect travellers with locals who actually live in the city — not the tourist version of it.

What is TravelBuddy247?

TravelBuddy247 helps travellers meet locals, find travel companions, discover budget-friendly stays, and request airport arrival assistance. It was built for solo travellers, international students, budget explorers, and families who need a friendly, practical hand when navigating a new city.

The platform runs across three connected areas:

  • Discover — match with locals and fellow travellers by language, interests, and availability
  • AirportBuddy — post a public-area airport assistance request; helpers respond with availability
  • Budget Stays — preview affordable stays and register interest during the beta phase

Where we are now

TravelBuddy247 is in beta. We are improving week by week based on real feedback. AirportBuddy is running as a manual pilot and Budget Stays is preview-only at this stage. Bookings and payments are not live yet.

We are a small, early-stage team. Not affiliated with or endorsed by any university or institution.

5. Cookies and analytics

We use session storage for authentication only. No tracking cookies, third-party analytics, or marketing pixels are currently enabled. If this changes, we will update this policy before doing so.

6. Data sharing

We do not sell your data. Profile information you enter (name, city, bio, interests) is visible to other registered users as part of the matching feature. We do not share personal data with third parties except where required by law.

7. Data retention

Account data is retained as long as your account is active. You can request deletion at any time by contacting us (see Section 1). We will delete your data within 30 days of a valid request.

8. Your rights (GDPR)

  • Right of access (Art. 15) — request a copy of your data
  • Right to rectification (Art. 16) — correct inaccurate data
  • Right to erasure (Art. 17) — request deletion of your account
  • Right to restriction (Art. 18) — limit how we process your data

1. Acceptance

By creating an account on TravelBuddy247 you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

2. Beta service availability

TravelBuddy247 is provided in beta, "as is." Features may change, be removed, or be unavailable without notice. We do not guarantee uptime or continuous service.

3. User responsibilities

  • You must be at least 18 years old to use TravelBuddy247.
  • You must provide accurate information. Fake profiles are strictly prohibited.
  • You are responsible for all activity under your account.
  • You must not impersonate another person or use someone else's photos without consent.

4. Prohibited conduct

The following are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate account removal:

  • Harassment, threats, or intimidation of any user
  • Scamming, fraud, or financial solicitation
  • Sharing of sexual content without explicit consent
  • Any illegal activity, including human trafficking or exploitation
  • Abuse of the reporting system
  • Automated access, scraping, or bot activity

5. Meetings in real life

TravelBuddy247 facilitates introductions. We are not responsible for what happens when users meet in person. You meet other users entirely at your own risk. Read our Safety Guide before meeting anyone.

6. Content you post

You retain ownership of content you post. By posting it, you grant TravelBuddy247 a non-exclusive licence to display it within the platform for the purpose of operating the service.

7. AirportBuddy

AirportBuddy is a public-area assistance coordination feature. It is not an emergency service, immigration service, or medical service. Helpers are not background-checked in the current beta phase. TravelBuddy247 is not responsible for the outcome of any AirportBuddy interaction. You use it at your own risk and with your own judgment.

8. Budget Stays

Budget Stays and Community Stays are currently in preview only. No live booking or payment is active. Community Stay submissions are subject to manual review before any listing goes public. Never send payments to any party outside of TravelBuddy247's official payment flow. TravelBuddy247 is not a licensed accommodation provider or letting agent.

9. Account removal

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently remove any account that violates these Terms without prior notice or refund.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance.

Safety

TravelBuddy247 is designed for genuine connection — but your safety comes first. Please read before meeting anyone in person.

When meeting someone in person

  • Always meet in a public place — a café, a park, a busy square. Never invite a new match to your home on the first meeting.
  • Tell someone where you are going — share the person's name and planned location with a friend or family member.
  • Keep your first meeting short — a coffee or a walk is enough to judge whether you feel comfortable.
  • Trust your instincts — if something feels wrong, leave. You don't owe anyone an explanation.

Protect your personal information

  • Do not share banking details, credit card numbers, or financial information with any match.
  • Do not share passport, ID, or government document photos with other users.
  • Do not share your home address, workplace address, or daily routine with new matches.
  • Keep communication inside TravelBuddy247 where possible before sharing personal contact details.

AirportBuddy safety

  • AirportBuddy assistance is limited to public airport areas only — terminals, arrival halls, public waiting zones.
  • Helpers are not background-checked in the current beta phase. Use your own judgment.
  • AirportBuddy is not an emergency service, immigration service, or medical service.
  • Helper profiles may be manually reviewed during beta before a connection is confirmed.
  • Never agree to go to a private location with an AirportBuddy helper you have not independently verified.

Budget Stays safety

  • Budget Stays and Community Stays are in preview only. Booking and payments are not live yet.
  • Never send payments to any host, property, or person outside TravelBuddy247's official payment flow.
  • Community Stay hosts are not verified at this stage. Use extra caution with any off-platform arrangements.

Reporting suspicious behaviour

Use the report button inside TravelBuddy247 when possible. For serious safety concerns, abuse, harassment, fake profiles, or account-related issues, contact complaints@travelbuddy247.com.

TravelBuddy247 is not an emergency service. If you are in immediate danger, call your local emergency number (112 in Germany and most of Europe, 999 in the UK, 911 in the US).

Trust & Transparency

We are building TravelBuddy247 in public, as a small team in beta. Here is what we do and don't do.

Privacy first

We collect only what we need to operate the matching feature. We do not sell data. We do not run advertising. Profile data is used only to show you to potential matches. See our Privacy Policy for the full picture.

No fake social proof

We do not fabricate testimonials, reviews, user counts, partner logos, or traction claims. Empty states are better than invented activity.

Safety reporting

Every profile has a report button. Reports are reviewed manually during beta. For serious safety concerns, contact complaints@travelbuddy247.com.

Verification (in progress)

ID verification and photo verification are planned features, not yet live for all users. Any beta review labels reflect limited manual review during early testing. We are building stronger verification systems for the full launch.

Beta transparency

TravelBuddy247 is an independent student project in open beta. It is not backed by institutional funding. Data may be reset between major versions. We will always communicate major changes in advance.
