Travel Safety

Meeting new people should feel exciting, not like a leap of faith. Here are the habits that keep it that way.

How we think about safety

Meeting someone new should never mean meeting a stranger blind. TravelBuddy247 is built so you can see who you're connecting with — real profiles, clear intentions, and a conversation before you ever meet in person. The rest comes down to a few habits experienced travellers already live by.

Before you meet someone

✅ Meet in public the first time — a busy café, a park, a street with people around.
✅ Tell a friend where you're going and who you're meeting. Share the plan, not just the excitement.
✅ Keep the conversation in the app until you're comfortable — there's no rush to hand over your number.
✅ Trust your gut. If something feels off, you don't owe anyone an explanation — just leave.

Clear red flags

⚠️ Anyone asking for your home address, phone number, or financial details early on.
⚠️ Anyone who won't talk in the app first, or rushes you onto another platform to meet.
⚠️ Anyone asking for money — no matter the story, and no matter how convincing. Never send it.

AirportBuddy safety

AirportBuddy is a friendly hand from a fellow traveller in the public areas of an airport — and some requests are reviewed by hand. It is not an emergency, medical, immigration, legal, airline, ride, or private-accompaniment service, and helpers are not background-checked at this stage. Treat it for what it is, and use your own judgment.

If something goes wrong

Use the report button inside TravelBuddy247 whenever you can — it's the fastest way to reach us. For anything serious — abuse, harassment, fake profiles, or a moment that scared you — email complaints@travelbuddy247.com. A real person reads every report, and we act on them.

One thing we can't do

We're not an emergency service. If you're ever in immediate danger, call your local emergency number first — then tell us. You're always responsible for your own safety decisions when you meet someone new; these habits just stack the odds in your favour.
